We know, we know, it's winter or damn close depending on your latitude and your attitude. Even with all that fluffy fun piling up out there, one occasionally has to suck it up and hit the rock gym, the yoga mat or some other indoor pursuit.
For all those times, and just about any outdoor warm weather activity you can think of, our go-to sawed-off is now the Prana Linear short. Available in basic black like we prefer, or a variety of plaids for the more fashionable among us, the Linear feels like a very lightweight soft shell board short.
The material is 89% polyester, 11% spandex, just the right amount of 4-way stretch for ballistic pursuits. The inseam is a perfect 11 inches, that's one full inch more than Steven Tyler's Big Ten Inch... Record. It's not a baggy fit, and it's not a tight fit, let's call it relaxed but still neat enought to wear on the town, apres snogging. There are two open hand pockets and a back zipper pocket for your junk.
The fly is a little different; it doesn't fully separate, but there's a drawstring and velcro closure at the top, and then the fly is actually open for about four inches. Initially we were concerned that Steven Tyler's close friends might find themselves shaking hands with the bishop, at least six inches worth. Turns out that's not a concern. Everything stays where it's supposed to thanks to the internal gusset, and these will quickly become the shorts you live in.
