At first I thought this was the Madonna jacket. I was turning it inside out looking for hidden porn when the SheFlogger pointed out that it was Madrona (she used the Italian pronunciation: itsmadronayouidiot), and it was for her not me. Win some, lose some.
Anyway, looks good on her, but while I was tempted to dismiss it as more stylish than functional that's not the case: it does both. It's water- and windproof thanks to REI 2-layer Elements fabric, has sealed seams, a removable/rollable/stowable hood and a nice interior tricot finish. Plenty of pockets, too.
The material is heavy enough to add noticable warmth, but overall it's not too bulky and packs well. If you crank up the activity level short of full-on aerobic it breathes nicely too. This is a great multirole piece that goes seamlessly from slopes to streets to suitcase.
